COVID-19: Positive cases cross 6 lakh mark in AP

Vijayawada/UNI: The massive spike of Coronavirus positive cases continued in Andhra Pradesh as the total number of cases have crossed the six lakh mark while 72 more patients died taking the death toll to 5,177.

A health bulletin here on Thursday said that 77,492 swab samples were tested in a period of 24 hours of which 8,702 were tested positive for Coronavirus taking the total number of cases to 6,01,462.

Large number of deaths took place in Chittoor district (564), East Godavari district (472), Guntur district (481), Kurnool district (435), Nellore district (411), Prakasham district (405), Anantapur district (429) and West Godavari district (405).

There are 88,197 Coronavirus positive cases in the state while 5,08,088 patients have been discharged from hospitals as they recovered.

East Godavari district continues to lead the state in reporting the highest number of cases by registering 82,447 positive cases while 54,635 cases reported in West Godavari district, 51,358 cases reported in Anantapur district, 52,421 cases reported in Chittoor district, 53,098 cases reported in Kurnool district and 47,880 cases reported in Guntur district.

So far 48,84,371 swab samples have been tested in AP.
