Haryana records 69 fresh Covid-19 cases

Chandigarh/UNI:  Haryana on Saturday recorded 69 fresh coronavirus cases, raising the infection tally in the state to 1,776.

According to an official health bulletin, 61 fresh cases have been reported from Gurugram, three each from Ambala and Fatehabad and two new cases from Nuh district Saturday.

Of the 19 fatalities till now, seven deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, three each from Gurugram and Panipat, two from Ambala, while one death each was reported from Jind, Sonepat, Karnal and Rohtak districts.

Gurugram has reported the highest number of infections in the state with 581 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad 307, Sonepat 199, Jhajjar 97, Nuh 70, Panipat 60, Palwal 58, Ambala 50, Karnal 48, Narnaul 39, Hisar 31, Rohtak 30, Jind and Kurukshetra 27 each, Panchkula 26, Rewari 23, Kaithal 17, Sirsa and Fatehabad 15 each, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri 13 each, Yamunanagar nine and 21 US- returnee Haryana citizens.

Of 1,12,808 samples, 1776 have tested positive and 1,06,516 have tested negative, while results of 4,502 samples are awaited. There are 830 active cases in the state.

A total of 927 patients, including 224 from Gurugram, 142 from Sonepat, 138 from Faridabad, 90 from Jhajjar, 65 from Nuh, 41 from Palwal, 40 from Ambala, 36 from Panipat, 25 from Panchkula, 20 from Karnal, 19 from Narnaul, 18 from Jind, 13 from Kurukshetra, eleven from Rohtak, nine from Sirsa, eight from Yamunanagar, seven from Fatehabad, six from Bhiwani, five each from Kaithal and Hisar, four from Rewari and one patient from Charkhi Dadri district have been discharged from hospitals till now.

As many as 63,494 patients have been put on surveillance till date, of which 40,323 have completed their surveillance period and presently, only 23,171 patients are under surveillance.

A total 1,776 positive cases exclude 14 Italian nationals. Thirteen of them had been discharged after their initial test was negative and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason, the bulletin added.
