Haryana registers 31 fresh Covid-19 cases, tally 1,521

Chandigarh/UNI: Haryana recorded 31 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, raising the infection tally of the state to 1,521.

According to an official health bulletin, 21 fresh cases have been reported from Faridabad, five from Rewari, three from Mahendergarh and one new case each from Panchkula and Nuh districts.

Of the 19 fatalities till now, seven deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, three each from Gurugram and Panipat, two from Ambala, while one death each was reported from Jind, Sonepat, Karnal and Rohtak districts.

Gurugram has reported the highest number of infections in the state with 405 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad 297, Sonepat 180, Jhajjar 97, Nuh 67, Panipat 60, Palwal 51, Ambala 47, Karnal 42, Mahendergarh 39, Jind 29, Kurukshetra, Panchkula and Hisar 26 each, Rohtak 24, Rewari 23, Sirsa 14, Fatehabad and Bhiwani eleven each, Kaithal ten, Yamunanagar nine, Charkhi Dadri eight and 21 US- returnee Haryana citizens.

Of 1,09,481 samples, 1,521 have tested positive and 1,03,683 negative, while results of 4,243 samples are awaited. There are 632 active cases in the state.

A total of 867 patients, including 193 from Gurugram, 139 from Sonepat, 138 from Faridabad, 90 from Jhajjar, 65 from Nuh, 40 from Ambala, 39 from Palwal, 36 from Panipat, 25 from Panchkula, 18 from Jind, 16 from Karnal, eleven from Rohtak, nine each from Mahendergarh and Sirsa, eight from Yamunanagar, seven each from Kurukshetra and Fatehabad, six from Bhiwani, five from Hisar, four each from Kaithal and Rewari and one patient from Charkhi Dadri district have been discharged from hospitals till now.

As many as 59,698 patients have been put on surveillance till date, of which 39,289 have completed their surveillance period and presently, only 20,409 patients are under surveillance.

The total 1,521 positive cases exclude 14 Italian nationals. Thirteen of them had been discharged after their initial test was negative and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason, the bulletin added.
