Mumbai High Court questions blanket ban on Maggi noodles

India Blooms News Service | | 23 Jul 2015, 04:24 pm
Mumbai, Jul 23 (IBNS) The Bombay High on Thursday questioned the propriety of the blanket ban on Maggi noodles.

The Court asked the government why the entire product was banned if just one batch was found to be bad, reports said.

The court also  questioned why a showcause notice was not issued before imposing the ban on the product of Nestle India.

The High Court's observation came a day after the Food Safety Standards Association of India (FSSAI) argued that a mere suspicion about a food snack being sub-standard justifies the order to stop sale of the product.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Nestle India against the ban on Maggi.
