Covid: Delhi records zero fatality for fourth consecutive day

New Delhi/UNI: For the third consecutive day, the national capital recorded zero death due to Covid-19 even as the city recorded 35 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, the Delhi government's latest health bulletin said on Saturday.

The city had recorded zero deaths in a day on Friday, Thursday and Wednesday and as well. Only 1 fatality, on September 7, has been reported this month so far, according to official data.

The latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 14,38,211 while the death toll rose to 25,083 government data showed.

The daily positivity rate stood at 0.05 per cent while 76,883 Covid-19 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the health department stated.

Meanwhile, 44 more people recovered from the viral illness in the last 24 hours and 110 individuals remain in home isolation, the data showed.

Total 412 Covid-19 cases remain active in the city, it added

The cumulative positivity rate in the national capital has been assessed at 5.44 per cent while the case fatality rate (cumulative) is recorded at 1.74 per cent, as per the data

Since the onset of the second wave of Covid-19, the national capital has recorded 29 instances so far when no deaths were reported in a day

The official data states that on July 18, July 24, July 29, August 2, August 4, August 8, August 11, August 12, August 13, August 16, August 20, August 21, August 22, August 23, August 24, August 26, August 27, August 28, August 29, September 1, September 2, September 3, September 4, September 5, September 6, September 8, September 9, September 10 and September 11 too, no death due to Covid-19 was recorded.

Earlier, the national capital had maintained a streak of five consecutive days, from August 20-24, where no deaths due to Covid-19 were reported.

Before the second wave, the national capital had recorded zero deaths on March 2 this year. On that day, the number of single-day infections stood at 217 and the positivity rate was 0.33 per cent.

The second wave swept the city during the April-May period.
