India records spike in COVID-19 cases as 41,965 new cases recorded in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as  41,965 new cases were registered, as per data released by the Ministry of Health.

Active cases account for 1.15% of total cases.

Meanwhile, 460 people died in the past 24 hours due to the virus.

India's Active caseload stands at 3,78,181.

Recovery Rate currently stands at 97.51%.

33,964 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours.

Weekly Positivity Rate (2.58%) is less than 3% for the last 68 days.

India witnessed a deadly COVID-19 second wave when people struggled to get hospital beds and oxygen supply.

The spike in deaths also left crematorium and graveyards overwhelmed.

There is a fear that India might witness a third wave soon.
