Tripura: Heavy rain leaves people homeless; four died

Agartala, Jun 14 (IBNS): More than 3,500 people were forced to leave their houses as heavy rain hit the northeastern state of India early this week, media reports said.

Five hundred people were evacuated to six relief camps.

Four people had died in different parts of the state.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb visited the affected areas on Wednesday.

Deb has also announced Rs. five lakh for the kin of the deceased people as compensation.
