Contamination forces millions to go without water in Chile
Santiago, Feb 27 (IBNS): At least four million people have been hit by a major landslide in the Chilean capital Santiago, forcing them to go without drinking water as authorities have cut off supply fearing contamination, the BBC reported.
The network quoted government officials as saying that the system will not be restored until the Maipo river is deemed clear and safe for use.
The landslide has also killed at least three people.
The calamity has also destroyed several homes, displacing at least 19 people.
