Twitter sacks entire marketing and communications team in India

Twitter has sacked the entire marketing and communications team in India, media reports said.

The micro-blogging site's new owner Elon Musk soon after acquiring the company last week sacked CEO Parag Agrawal along with Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal and Vijaya Gadde, head of legal, policy and trust.

In an internal email, the social media company said the cuts are "an effort to place Twitter on a healthy path", BBC reported.

The firm added that its offices would be temporarily closed and badge access would be suspended.

In the email sent to Twitter employees all across the world, the company asked them to return home and wait for an email to hit their mailbox.

Earlier, an India Today report said that the mail that would have told employees the status of their job with Twitter was going to be sent at 9:30 PM India time.
