Textiles Industry welcomes appointment Smriti Irani as new Minister
Kolkata, July 7 (IBNS): Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), the apex chamber of textiles in India, has welcomed the appointment of Smriti Irani as the new Cabinet Minister of textiles.
Welcoming her appointment, Naishadh Parikh the Chairman of CITI said, "At a time the Textile Industry is poised to establish 'Make in India' into a reality, the appointment of a dynamic, progressive and result oriented Cabinet Minister like Smt. Irani comes at an opportune time."
Confederation of Indian Textile Industry thanked the Prime Minister for giving it a full fledged Cabinet Minister to achieve his goal of creating 5 Crore jobs in the next few years.
"India is the second fully integrated robust textile value chain, next only to China and industry is looking forward to initiatives to further bolster the Textile Industry in view of large investments taking place in Bangladesh and Vietnam towards verticalisation of the industry. Indian textile Industry is optimistic and confident that under her able leadership, Indian textile value-chain will grow manifold. We assure Smt. Irani all support and co-operation in her endeavor and initiatives in Textiles," an official statement said.
