Sensex drops by over 200 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday lost another 286 points at 69,264.53 in the opening session as selling was seen in IT, Bankex, consumer durables, and metal stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 69.55 points to 20,836.85.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 69,655.83 and 69,207.09 points, respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 20,936 and 20,801.15 points respectively.

The Mid Cap gained 0.21 pc and Small Cap by 0.07 pc.

The losers were Infosys by 2.17 pc to Rs 1444, Bajaj Finserv by 2.10 pc to Rs 1670.10, TCS by 2.02 pc to Rs 3597.95, Axis Bank by 1.30 pc to Rs 1116.35, and Ultracemco by 1.27 pc to Rs 9738.80.

The gainers were NTPC by 2.61 pc to Rs 290.80, Powergrid by 1.43 pc to Rs 234.75, ITC by 0.67 pc to Rs 456.15, and IndusInd Bank by 0.58 pc to Rs 1506.15.
