Paris: Renault on Tuesday named its Chief Financial Officer Duncan Minto as interim CEO to steer the French carmaker while it looks for a permanent successor to Luca de Meo, Reuters reported.

De Meo, who led Renault for five years, resigned unexpectedly last month and is set to join luxury conglomerate Kering in September.

Minto assumed charge of the company from Tuesday.

"Currently CFO of Renault Group, Duncan Minto will ensure the day-to-day management of the company alongside Jean-Dominique Senard, who will hold the position of Chairman of Renault s.a.s., the operating company of the Group, during this period," the company said in a statement.

"Since 1997 in the group, Duncan has a solid experience in finance and a deep understanding of the issues at stake," it added.
