Rail Vikas Nigam selects L&T Infotech for SAP implementation

Mumbai, Mar 16 (IBNS): L&T Infotech, a global provider of information technology services and solutions, has been awarded a contract worth USD 10 Mn to integrate the business functions of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL).

RVNL a wholly-owned public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, with the specific mandate of fast track implementation of rail infrastructure projects.

As per the contract, L&T Infotech will deploy SAP ERP to integrate business operations within RVNL. Under the terms of the agreement, L&T Infotech will also deliver Data Centre hosting, collaboration and networking, including e-tendering, project management, finance, HR functions as well as user support and maintenance.

It will also integrate RVNL’s 24 Project Implementing Units (PIUs) across India, including their corporate office at New Delhi.

"We are glad to have signed the contract for implementing world-class SAP ERP to Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd," said, V. K. Magapu, Managing Director, L&T Infotech. "Our unique solutions will help RVNL streamline its operations thereby helping them save valuable time, resources and money."

Ashok Ganju, Director Finance, RVNL, said, "We look forward to working with L&T Infotech for implementation of  state-of-the-art IT solutions for Project Management of Rail Infrastructure Projects."

Further, using SAP, RVNL will be able to map business processes in a highly integrated way, which will help reduce costs and ensure speedy implementation of railway projects.
