New Delhi, June 18 (IBNS): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday announced that Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan's successor will be announced soon.

He appreciated Rajan for his contribution as Reserve Bank of India Governor.

"The Government appreciates the good work done by him and respects his decision. A decision on his successor would be announced shortly," the Finance Minister said.

Rajan said he will return to academics after the end of his term on Sept 4.
