Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited registers total income of Rs 293 crore in Q4 FY26
Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited (MSEL) reported total income of Rs 293 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with Rs 356 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY25.
The company’s EBITDA for Q4 FY26 stood at Rs 81 crore, down from Rs 116 crore in Q4 FY25.
Profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter declined to Rs 49 crore, compared with Rs 72 crore in the year-ago period.
Commenting on the performance, C.S. Nopany said the Government of Bihar has launched an ambitious roadmap to revive the sugar industry, aligned with the state’s broader economic development goals focused on agro-industrial growth, employment generation and technology adoption.
“With renewed policy focus and collaborative implementation, Bihar’s sugar sector is well-positioned to regain momentum and contribute meaningfully to the state’s socio-economic resurgence,” he said.
Nopany noted that the operating environment during the period remained challenging, marked by bearish sugar prices driven by global political and economic factors, which were insufficient to offset rising sugarcane prices and continued to exert pressure on industry margins.
He added that sugarcane yield was severely impacted by unseasonal rainfall, leading to lower raw material availability and underutilisation of plant capacities.
“Despite these headwinds, our diversified operations across sugar, ethanol and co-generation, coupled with operational efficiency, have supported stable cash flows,” Nopany said.
