Maantic Inc to hire 300 people from Kolkata by end of 2023, opens new ODC in city

Kolkata: US tech major Maantic Inc on Friday announced it will hire 300 people from Kolkata by the end of 2023.

The company also announced the expansion of its business operations in Eastern India with the opening of a new state-of-the-art Offshore Development Center (ODC) in Kolkata.

This is Maantic’s second offshore office in India after Pune.

The new center located at Technopolis in Salt Lake City, Sector 5, was inaugurated today by Harry Iyer, Founder & CEO, Maantic, Shirsendu Sengupta, Kolkata Centre Head & Global Head – Digital Process Automation, Maantic,  Anand Jha, Director, Strategic Alliances, Pegasystems, Debashis Sen, Chairman of Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) and Kallol Ghosh, Founder, Offer India.

Harry Iyer, Founder & CEO, Maantic Inc, said, “We are delighted to open our second Indian offshore centre in Kolkata after Pune."

"The City of Joy has abundance of tech talent, excellent work culture and it also ranks higher in the global affordability index. Given these parameters, we believe Kolkata will soon be our biggest talent hub to service global clients," he said.

"Maantic Inc is one of fastest growing companies working with Fortune 10 and Fortune 500 companies across key markets worldwide like North America, Canada, and India. We are also planning to expand our footprint in other geographies like Middle East and Europe and ramp up our hiring," he said.

Shirsendu Sengupta, Kolkata Centre Head & Global Head – Digital Process Automation, Maantic said, “Indian IT sector has a significant number of people working from the eastern region. The primary reason to set up the new office in Kolkata is to tap the talent available in this region. We will initially cater to Digital Process Automation (BPM, RPA) & Cloud Services, CRM from our Kolkata centre and have plans to introduce the other practices in a phased manner over the next few months.”

Debashis Sen, Chairman of NDITA said, ‘On behalf of Government of West Bengal, we welcome Maantic to Kolkata and we shall extend all possible help that may be required from our side for Maantic to expand even further here. The East-West Metro extension has already improved the connectivity with Sector 5 substantially and we are constantly improving the infrastructure in the area. We already have companies like TCS, Reliance and Adani coming up in our Bengal IT Silicon Valley Hub and the outlook is bright after two years of pandemic.’
