The larger recall covers 323,917 units of the 2023–2025 model year Nissan Rogue SUVs due to a possible bearing failure that could allow hot oil to leak, increasing the risk of an engine fire and loss of drive power, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said, as cited by the New York Post.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a three-cylinder, 1.5-litre KR15DDT variable compression (VC-Turbo) engine, according to the regulator.

Dealers have been instructed to reprogram the engine control software, carry out a diagnostic inspection and conduct a test drive, all free of charge to customers.

In a separate action, Nissan is recalling 318,781 units of the 2024–2025 Rogue over concerns involving potentially broken throttle body gears, the report said.

The company will begin notifying customers by mail starting in March 2026, Nissan told FOX Business.

The recall announcement comes as Nissan recently reported its financial results for the nine months ended December 2025 and issued a revised full-year outlook.

During the nine-month period, global sales reached 2.26 million units, driven primarily by demand in the United States and China.

Consolidated net revenue totalled 8.6 trillion yen, while operating profit stood at a loss of 10.1 billion yen.

The company said the figure reflected a marked improvement from the first half of the fiscal year as operating losses continued to narrow.

Net income for the period was a loss of 250.2 billion yen, largely attributed to lower income from equity-method affiliates and restructuring expenses.

As of December, Nissan maintained total liquidity of 3.6 trillion yen, including 2.1 trillion yen in cash and cash equivalents, underscoring what it described as a robust financial position.
