Indian Market: Sensex up by over 100 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday surged 104 points to 55,786.17 as buying was seen in Materials, Consumer Durable and Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services stocks.

The Nifty also moved up 32.70 points to 16,637.95.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 56,006.22 and 55,724.80 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the days high and low at 16,704.80 and 16,623.10 points respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.02 per cent and Small Cap by 0.08 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.

The gainers were Titan by 1.69 per cent to Rs 2326.17, Kotak Bank by 1.48 per cent to Rs 1827.55, HDFC by 1.17 per cent to Rs 2269.60 and HDFC Bank by 1.15 per cent to Rs 1376.70.

The losers were Infosys by 1.65 per cent to Rs 1507.50, Tech Mahindra by 1.08 per cent to Rs 1021.30, HCL Technology by 1.04 per cent to Rs 914.80 and NTPC by 1.03 per cent to Rs 149.15.
