Indian Market: Sensex clocks new peak at 69,928.53

The BSE Sensex on Monday ended at new peak at 69,928.53, rising 102.93 as buying was seen in Commodities, Metal, and Capital Goods stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 27.70 pts at 20,997.10.

The Sensex opened higher at 69,925.63 increasing 100 pts. It was rallied 232 pts, breaching 70K level for the first time at 70,057.83 days high, before closing at 69,928.53 up 102.93 pts from its previous close.

The stocks include Commodities, Metal, BSE services and Capital Goods stocks kept the market firm.

The Mid Cap gained 0.91 pc and Small Cap by 0.71 pc.

In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.

The gainers were Ultracemco by 3.46 pc to Rs 9725, Nestle India Ltd by 1.30 pc to Rs 25110, Power grid by 1.25 pc to Rs 231.50, IndusInd Bank by 0.92 pc to Rs 1523 and JSW Steel by 0.90 pc to Rs 846.90.

The losers were Axis Bank by 1.39 pc to Rs 1115.40, M& M by 0.99 pc to Rs 1662, Hind Unilever by 0.77 pc to Rs 2502 and Wipro by 0.45 pc to Rs 420.10.
