Mumbai, Nov 10 (IBNS): As the market digests the panic created by the demonetisation of highest rated currency notes and banks begin to accept old notes, the Indian benchmark indices ended Thursday on positive note.

BSE Sensex was up 309.09 points at 27561.62 and NSE Nifty was up 110.55 points at 8542.55.

All through the day, reports have been coming in about people flocking to the banks across the country to submit the old currency.

Key stocks that gaine don Thursday were Tata Steel, SBI, Cipla, Coal India and ICICI Bank while Asian Paints, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC, Lupin and Bajaj Auto declined.
