HeroMotocorp launches 'Duet' in West Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 15 (IBNS): Two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp on Monday unveiled its new steel body scooter 'Duet' in Kolkata.
The Duet, along with Maestro Edge, is the first product to have been developed by Hero's own in-house R&D team, an official statement said. 
 
The 110cc Duet, available in two versions-VX and LX-,was launched in the eastern markets.
 
"We hold a dominant 60 percent motorcycle share in the eastern part of the country.Presently, we hold 20 per cent of the market share in the scooter segment, which has gone up by 7 per cent in the first half of this year. Maestro and Pleasure were the second and the third highest selling scooters in this zone,"said A Srinivasu, National Head Sales Hero MotoCorp. 
 
"The brand Hero is a well known entity in this zone. We have a wide range of scooters. Duet is our fourth scooter. Recently, Hero has overtaken Honda in terms of market share in the state of Tripura, where we have 39 per cent market share. We are confident enough that Duet will also do well in this zone," he said.
 
The company also plans to export its two wheelers to other countries in future, added Srinivasu.
 
"We have designed this scooter keeping in mind the needs of a wider spectrum of customers. We have added few new features like external fuel filling, mobile charging port, telescopic front suspension, boot light, digital analog meter console and many more," said Harish Arora, Head of Scooters Project Hero MotoCorp's R&D. 
 
Talking about the safety features of the all new duet, Arora added, "The Duet features multiple safety features like the side stand indicator, throttle position sensor (tps), integrated braking system, telescopic front suspension which offers riding comfort and improved stability and tubeless tyres."
 
The Hero Duet's 110cc air-cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder OHC engine produces a maximum power output of 8.31 BHP @8000 RPM and maximum torque of 8.3 Nm @ 6500 RPM.
 
According to Hero, the Duet  will offers 63.8 km/litre in mileage terms. The new Duet comes with a metal body that makes it sturdy and durable. 
 
The company had added features like, under-seat mobile charging port, remote seat opening, remote fuel-lid opening, pass switch, service due indicator, side stand indicator, twin parking lamps and tubeless tyres.
 
External fuel filling and boot-light in the glove box are additional important utility features. Duet will be available in six different colours like candy blazing red, pearl silver white, grace grey, matte nature green, panther black and vernier grey (non-metallic).
