Govt sanctions Rs 5469 cr for construction, widening, upgrade of highways

New Delhi: The government said on Tuesday that it has sanctioned over Rs 5,469 crore for the construction, upgrade and widening of highways in different states of the country.

In all six projects were announced by Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

Information regarding all these projects was posted on social media platform X by the Minister.

The new projects include the construction of the Jaunpur Bypass on the Jaunpur-Akbarpur section of National Highway 135A in Uttar Pradesh at the cost of Rs 1894.76 crore, upgradation of National Highway in Solan and Bilaspur districts of HP for which Gadkari sanctioned Rs 1244.33 crore among others.

Other states which got approval and sanctions are Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Odisha.
