Durgapur Steel Plant to host Durgapur Ispat Sanskritik Mahotsav

Kolkata, May 25 (IBNS) Durgapur Steel Plant is organising Durgapur Ispat Sanskritik Mahotsav - 2015 on May 26 - 27 at Bidhan Bhavan in DSP steel township.

This is the 6th year in a row that DSP is organising the Durgapur Ispat Sanskritik Mahotsav under its CSR scheme. 

The festival provides a platform to the cultural troupes from the peripheral villages of the steel township to perform on the same stage along with the famous and renowned cultural groups from different parts of the country. It aims at promoting and popularising the traditional cultural activities of the region.

"The 2-day long Durgapur Ispat Sanskritik Mahotsav-2015 will be inaugurated by Mr P K Singh, CEO, DSP at Bidhan Bhawan at DSP Steel Township on 26th May, 2015 at 7.00 pm. The program is open to all," read a government statement.

Along with the traditional dance performances by various cultural troupes from the peripheral villages, the festival will have dance performances by eminent exponents from different parts of India.

"This year the famous groups from different parts of the country will include Bharat Natyam Dance by Kalatharangini Centre of Performing Arts and Culture, Rabindra Nritya by Geet-o-Jharna Cultural Association, Kaththak Dance by Kathak Dharohar and Siddhi Goma / Siddhi Dhhama by the Siddhi Goma Troupe," read the statement.
