Covacsis Technologies launches Microsoft based intelligent manufacturing framework
New Delhi / Kolkata, Dec 11 (IBNS): Covacsis Technologies, a new generation technology company from Mumbai, has developed an Intelligent Plant Framework (IPF) solution using Microsoft SQL Server 2014 that brings Internet of Things to the shop floor in process and discrete manufacturing.
Covacsis’ IPF is built on SQL and provides real time data from machines on the shop floor allowing manufacturing units the flexibility to take quick and informed decisions about efficiency, downtime and asset management among other parameters.
Covacsis is offering the hardware and software in a box that connects with any manufacturing system, machine, or equipment on the shop floor.
Tarun Mishra, Founder and CEO, Covacsis Technologies said, “Most of our customers are already on the Microsoft technology platform and our offering is aligned to their IT infrastructure roadmap. We will soon offer our services in the cloud through Microsoft Azure as well.”
Tyler Bryson, General Manager, Marketing and Operations, Microsoft India, said, “One third of the virtual machines running in Microsoft Azure are using SQL Server 2014. SQL Server 2014 is fast becoming the database of choice for SMBs as well as large enterprises. Covacsis’ IPF uses the power of SQL’s large data handling capability and in-memory processing to deliver real-time insights.”
SQL Server has grown into a $6 billion-per-year revenue business for Microsoft and continues to grow through increasing adoption in the cloud.
