New Delhi, Oct 16 (IBNS) Taking a hard measure against the high incidence of call drop, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has recommended that telecom operators compensate consumers for each call drop, reports said.

Releasing a set of recommendations, the  telecom regulator has asked operators to pay Re 1 compensation for each call drop to customers. The compensation would however be restricted to 3 calls per day.

The telecom operators have to send SMSes to customers mentioning the details of the amount credited within four hours of the occurrence of to a call drop.

In case of postpaid customers, the credits will be reflected in their next bill, the regulator said.
