Berger Paints signs MOU with Russian Government
Kolkata, Feb 18 (IBNS): Berger Paints India Limited and the Government of the Stavropol Region, Russian Federation on Wednesday entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for conducting a feasibility study and establishment of an industrial coatings plant in the Stavrapol region of Russia by Berger.
The Government of Stavrapol was represented by Vladimir Vladimirovich Vladimirov, the Governor of the Stavropol Region and Berger Paints was represented by Kuldip Singh Dhingra, Chairman.
Stavrapol is the administrative centre of Stavrapol Krai, at the centre of the northern Caucasus region, in the South West corner of Russia.
Stavrapol is an industrially developed area, with an automobile manufacturing facility and several other industries. It aims to further grow its industrial sector and is inviting global investors, including entrepreneurs from India, for the purpose.
Pursuant to the MOU, Berger will conduct a feasibility study, to be completed by 2015, for setting up a modern industrial coatings plant in the Stavrapol region. Berger will set up the plant to cater to the demands of the industries in the region and elsewhere in Russia, based on the results of the feasibility study.
Speaking on this occasion, Kuldip Sigh Dhingra, Chairman said, “We welcome this opportunity to be able to enter in this memorandum of understanding with the Government of the Stavropol Region, Russian Federation. By joining hands, we can collectively use our resources better to conduct feasibility study for setting up a modern industrial coatings in the Stavropol region. This is a step towards development of bilateral cooperation and we look forward to a successful collaboration.”
