Bajaj Broking launches its ChatGPT plugin to help users with AI-powered portfolio insights. Why is it needed?

Bajaj Broking has launched its investment application plugin on ChatGPT, enabling investors to access live portfolio data directly within ChatGPT through a native, in-app connection, without requiring any developer setup.

The plugin uses an open standard that allows AI assistants to securely connect with external applications and data sources.

Once connected, investors can use natural-language queries in ChatGPT to check their holdings and positions, access live market quotes, view orders and available funds, and track profit and loss (P&L). The information is retrieved directly and securely from their live Bajaj Broking accounts.

The AI integration is designed as a ready-to-use plugin rather than a developer-focused tool. Previously, connecting a demat and trading account to an AI assistant could involve navigating advanced or developer settings and manually entering server configuration details.

Bajaj Broking’s plugin is available through ChatGPT’s built-in plugin directory, allowing users to locate and connect it to their demat and trading accounts using two-factor authentication. The company said users can then begin asking questions about their investments within minutes.

The solution is aimed at a wide range of users, including active retail investors and traders seeking quicker access to portfolio information, technology-savvy investors exploring AI-powered tools, young professionals looking for smarter ways to monitor investments, and developers or algo traders seeking access to market data.

“Investors today expect information on their own terms, instantly, in plain language, wherever they already are,” said Anurag Misra, Chief Technology Officer, Bajaj Broking.

“Technology is most powerful when it removes friction rather than adding another layer of complexity. This launch is about making an emerging technology relevant to the everyday investor and creating a more intuitive way to access information that already belongs to them,” he added.
