New Delhi: An Air India Express aircraft flying from Calicut to Dubai was diverted to Muscat after a burning smell was detected from one of the vents in the forward galley during the cruise, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

On Saturday, an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Kochi faced hydraulic failure. All passengers and crew were able to make a safe landing.

Several flights en route to domestic as well as international destinations have been affected by technical malfunctions in the past few months.

On the same day, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Vadodara was diverted to Jaipur following vibrations in the engines. The aviation regulator has clarified that the diversion was made as a precautionary measure.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, it has said.

SpiceJet, which is already under the DGCA's scanner for eight technical malfunctions in a period of 14 days, had another incident of technical failure when its Dubai to Madurai was delayed after the Boeing B737 Max aircraft's nose wheel malfunctioned.
