Tata Motors announces the nation-wide launch of Nex-Gen ULTRA range of trucks to strengthen its leadership position in ILCV segment

Kolkata, Apr 25 (IBNS): To further strengthen its leadership position in the Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicles (ILCV) segment, automobile major Tata Motors has outlined an aggressive growth plan with the nation-wide launch of an extensive range of new generation trucks under the ULTRA brand. 

Designed and created with engineering passion, offering class-leading features and driving comfort, the new ULTRA range of ILCV are powerful and robust trucks ranging from 7 Ton to 16 Ton GVW with flexibility to cater to various fully build applications.

Powered by futuristic and indigenous  3L and 5L Turbotronn series engines, this new range of trucks promises to deliver superior performance, increased pay-load capacity, industry best mileage, all leading to significant increase in revenues and lowest cost of operation.

The ULTRA range is capable of meeting the Global Trucking Standards of emission, safety and features and has been tested and homologated into various geographies outside India viz. South Africa, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and many more markets. These trucks offer a true business utility vehicle for large fleet owners, captive users, fleet rental, e-commerce and logistics.

The range provides competitive cost of operations, highest reliability of timely delivery, superior safety features and best-in-class driving comfort. With an increase of 2.7 % market share in this segment in FY 18, we are confident that our ULTRA range will set new benchmarks, further strengthening our leadership position.”

With its contemporary global design, the exteriors and the interiors of the ULTRA cabin boasts a stylish world-class look, sufficient storage capacity, giving the driver benchmark levels of visibility, safety and driving comfort. The provisions for the fitment of various accessories coupled with a walk-through cabin and ergonomically designed interfaces offer a fatigue-less driving experience. The 45-degree hydraulic tilt cabin meets strict European Safety Norms, a segment first from Tata Motors.

The overall modularity of Ultra Platform provides immense flexibility to address various customer and segment aspirations – numerous combinations of day, wider and sleeper cabins, Turbotronn engines ranging from 125 to 210 HP,  a range of wheel bases of 3.3 to 6.8 meters, cabin widths of 1.9 to 2.1 meters, deck lengths from 12 to 32 ft– and more importantly – various applications like tippers, reefers, containers, tankers, poultry, two wheeler carriers, municipal applications, auto-logistics and many more.

Powered by the new generation Turbotronn 3L and 5L diesel engines, the ULTRA range offers class-leading torque range from 360 to 840 Nm resulting in superlative performance, best-in-class fuel economy, lowest TCO, and industry best durability. The Ultra range comes with the widest and most reliable range of gearbox configurations in 5/6 speed in manual and AT versions. Manufactured at the Pune Plant, the entire range also comes with power steering system and front parabolic suspension for driving comfort. These new generation engines are also future ready and is scalable for BSVI norms.

ULTRA offers Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking and advanced Telematics solutions and thereby helping customers track and control vehicles anywhere in the country. Service includes features like real-time fleet tracking, SMS and email alerts, Geo-fencing and remote unit management all designed to address the business needs of fleet owners and customers.

ULTRA range comes with a Standard warranty of 3 years / 3 lakhs kms, supported by extensive country-wide network for sales, service and spare parts. Customers will benefit from host of excellent aftermarket support through value added services, under the umbrella of ‘Sampoorna Seva’ including a 24X7 workshop, door step service enabled by mobile workshops, TATA PROLIFE – for reconditioned aggregates, AMC packages, breakdown assistance, accidental insurance for drivers and dedicated on-site container workshops on the highways of India.
