Indian benchmark indices end higher on Friday

Mumbai, Dec 15 (IBNS): The Indian market closed higher on Friday largely based on the exit polls which indicated  Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to win in the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, according to media reports.

BSE Sensex was up 216.27 points at 33,462.97 and NSE Nifty was up 81.20 points at 10,333.30.

Top gainers included Vedanta, Yes Bank, M&M,Dr Reddy's Labs, HDFC Bank, Adani Ports, Coal India and Hindalco while Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Bosch, ONGC, Asian Paints, TCS, SBI and Power Grid declined.
