Infosys Foundation, Infosys Bhubaneswar partner with CIPET to provide technical training

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (IBNS): Akanksha, the CSR arm of Infosys Bhubaneswar Development Center (DC), in collaboration with the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), a Government of India Institute, has conducted free residential, technical skill development training for 240 students for the second consecutive year at the CIPET campus II in Bhubaneswar.

This endeavor, aimed at benefitting the unemployed youth belonging to economically backward sections of Odisha, has been undertaken with a financial grant of INR 1.65 Crore from the Infosys Foundation.

The program concluded successfully in September 2016 with a 90.4% placement record, leading to 217 candidates being offered placement in different companies across the country.

The cost for training each student was approximately INR 60,000 which included training, lodging & boarding, training kit and uniforms.

Over the last 2 years, 300 students have been trained, with over 95% of them having secured job placements, through this initiative.

The program for FY 17 has already commenced with 120 of the 240 students undergoing training with the support of the Infosys Foundation.
