Tata Power's Maithon Power Ltd. honoured with NSC Safety Award 2015 in power generation

Mumbai/Kolkata, Jan 11 (IBNS): Tata power, India’s largest integrated power company, has an exemplary track record of project execution excellence, customer care and world class safety procedures.

In recognition of this commitment, Maithon Power Ltd., a joint venture between Tata Power's Maithon Power Limited (MPL), the company's 74:26 joint venture with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), was awarded the National Safety Council ‘Prashansa Patra Award’ in manufacturing sector (power generation) for 2015.

The National Safety Council Award recognises industrial undertakings for their consistent and meritorious Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Performance and implementing effective OSH management systems, practices and procedures and to encourage their continual commitment to OSH. MPL was honoured with the Prashansa Patra Award for implementing and following the best safety practices at the plant.

Commenting on the achievement, K Chandrashekhar, CEO & ED - Maithon Power Ltd, Tata Power said “It is an absolute honour to have been conferred with the Prashansa Patra National Safety Council Award. Safety remains a core value at Tata Power and we have always strived hard to achieve the highest standards of safety in every aspect of our operation.”
