SIP contribution in Dec 2022 rose to Rs 13,573 cr against Nov's Rs 13,306: AMFI

Mumbai/IBNS: The SIP contribution in December 2022 increased to Rs 13,573.08 crores from Rs 13,306.49 crores in November 2022, monthly data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) shows.

Mutual Fund Folios crossed an all-time high at 14,11,19,590 and Retail MF Folios too at an all-time high at 11,29,26,697.

Mutual Fund Industry Net Asset Under Management (AUM) at Rs 39,88,735.37 crores, AAUM at Rs 40,76,170.53 crores.

Retail AUMs (Equity+Hybrid+Solution Oriented Schemes) in December 2022 stood at Rs 55,212 crores and the Average AUM stood at Rs 20,88,946 crores

Number of Folios under retail schemes (Equity + Hybrid + Solution Oriented Schemes) at 11,29,26,697

The number of SIP accounts stood at 6,12,42,531 for the month of December 2022 by a net addition of 7,85,102 from the month of November which was at 6,04,57,429.

SIP AUM stood at Rs 6,74,666.32 for December 2022. SIP AUM for the month of November was Rs 6,83,851.80 crores.

The new SIP registered for the month of December 2022 is 23,24,070.

A total of 36 schemes were launched, out of which 24 schemes are open-ended and 12 are close-ended schemes, introduced in various categories with total funds mobilised Rs 8,486 crores.

Gold ETF is at Rs 21,455.35 Crore in the month of December 2022.

Mutual Fund folios have been continuously crossing the highest-ever milestone since the last three months. This indicates a healthier and  disciplined investment habit and systematic mode of investment by small investors

Index Funds have shown a net inflow of Rs 6,736.52 crore in the month of December 2022 as compared to Rs 8,601.73 crore in the month of Nov 2022.

In India, the American people have invested more than USD 2 million over the past two decades for the documentation, conservation, and restoration of 23 key historic sites and intangible heritage, the release added.

Mutual Fund Folios stood at 14,11,19,590 in December 2022 from 12,02,06,576 crore in December 2021.

Mutual Fund Industry Net AUM has recorded at Rs 39,88,735.37 crore as compared to Rs 37,72,696.31 in Dec 2021.

Retail AUMs (Equity+Hybrid+Solution Oriented Schemes) stood at INR 20,55,212 crores in December 2022 as compared to INR 18,44,258 crores in December 2021 and the Average AUM stood at INR 20,88,946 crores from INR 18,30,950 lakh crores.

Number of Folios under retail schemes (Equity+Hybrid+Solution Oriented Schemes) recorded a number of 11,29,26,697 from 9,73,68,359 in December 2021

The Monthly SIP contribution was Rs 13,573.08 crores in December 2022 as compared to Rs 11,305.34 crore in Dec 202.

The number of SIP accounts stood at 6,12,42,531 for the month of December 2022 while the number of SIP accounts in Dec 2021 stood at 4,90,78,547.

SIP AUM stood at Rs 6,74,666.32 for December 2022 as compared to INR 5,65,420.04 crores in December 2021 with a Y-o-Y percentage increase of around 19%.

Sharing views on the December monthly data, N S Venkatesh, Chief Executive, AMFI said: “Investors will continue to invest in the India growth story through the mutual fund route over the near future. Investors are looking forward to a growth-oriented budget which should have a positive impact on the markets.”

The importance of investing in equity markets for longer-term goals is not lost on investors and the same is reflected in the ever-increasing awareness and adoption of SIP as a goal-linked route to create wealth over the long term, he said.

This month almost 24 lacs new SIPs were registered, which shows increasing investor belief in the instrument, Venkatesh added.

SIPs are the simplest route to build a disciplined habit of regular investing, he said.
