Sensex down by over 300 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex Monday tumbled down 377 pts at 55,391.39 in the opening session as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty slipped 112 points at 16,471.45.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 55,764.14 and 55,295.74 points respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,579 and 16,444.55 points respectively.

The Mid cap declined 0.98 pc while Small Cap by 1 percent.

In 30 scrips, 4 advanced while 26 declined.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.13 pc to Rs 1123.40, Bajaj Finserv by 1.84 pc to Rs 12,457.80, Wipro by 1.84 pc to Rs 4616.95, Asian Paints by 1.73 pc to Rs 2837 and Hind Unilever by 1.53 pc to Rs 2257.

The gainers were NTPC by 0.74 pc to Rs 156.20, Sun Pharma by 0.53 pc to Rs 869.50 and Axis Bank by 0.45 pc to Rs 676.90.
