Fuel prices hiked again

New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices were increased on Monday again. According to the price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi costs Rs 103.81 per litre and diesel Rs 95.07 per litre, after the prices were increased by 40 paise for both petrol and diesel.

In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 118.83 per litre (an increase of 84 paise) while diesel is at Rs 103.07 (an increase of 43 paise). In Chennai, a litre of petrol costs Rs 109.34 while diesel costs Rs 99.42.

In Kolkata, the price of a litre of petrol is Rs 113.45 while for diesel it is Rs 98.22. The fuel prices were on freeze since November 4, 2021, but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel.

The oil companies had been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since then except on March 24 and April 1, 2022.

This is the 12th hike in the past 14 days.
