Indian Market: Sensex still down over 600 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex continued to slid for the fourth straight session on Friday as it tanked 605.01 pts, below 59K at 58,859.61 in opening trade, as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty too slipped 161.55 pts at 17,595.45.

The sensex registered days high and low at 59,040.86 and 58,683.01 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,637.10 and 17,525.35 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap fell 0.97 pc and Small Cap by 0.39 pc.

In 30 scrips, 5 advanced while 25 declined.

The losers were Bajaj Finserv by 3.33 pc to Rs 16,686.30, Tech Mahindra by 3.32 pc to Rs 1612.70, Dr Reddy's Lab by 3.26 pc to Rs 4443.25, Kotak Bank by 1.83 pc to Rs 1857.20 and IndusInd Bank by 1.88 pc to Rs 861.70.

The gainers were Powergrid by 1.70 pc to Rs 218.25, Hind Unilever by 1.12 pc to Rs 2287, NTPC by 0.44 pc to Rs 135.50 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.37 pc to Rs 8065.70.
