Indian Market: Sensex closes at new high at 60,077.88 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The winning streak remained intact for the third consecutive session on Monday, as the BSE Sensex rose by 29.41 pts to close at life time high at 60,077.88 following gains in Auto Realty and Energy stocks amid strong global cues.

Nifty finished almost flat at 17,855.10, up by 1.90 pts.

Despite volatility, the equity market managed to keep the rally intact, as the Sensex surged 255 pts to open at 60,303.79.

It spurted 364 pts to 60,412.32, days high.

Later, it erased earlier gains and slipped nearly 161 pts to 59,887.19, days low, and finally settled at 60,077.88, gaining 29.41 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 60,412.32 and 59,887.19 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,943.50 and 17,802.90 pts.

The stocks include Auto, Realty, Energy and Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services shined today.

In scrips, Maruti Suzuki, M& M, Bajaj Auto, NTPC and Reliance Industries glittered however, selling in HCL Technology, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys and L& T capped from further gains, broker informed.

The Mid Cap rose steady while the small Cap fell by 0.13 pc.

In 30 scrips, 13 advanced, 16 declined while one remained unchanged.
