Sensex zooms up 677.17 pts during the week

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex rallied 677.17 points or 1.32 per cent to settle at 52,100.05 in a week as fresh Covid cases continue to decline and vaccination pace picks up.

Positive cue from Asian peers also boosted investor sentiment.

Nifty gained 234.60 points or 1.52 pc to settle at 15,670.25.

The BSE Mid-Cap advanced 849.66 or 3.92 pc to settle at 22,511.49. The BSE Small-Cap rallied 783.21 points or 3.34 pc to settle at 24,261.90.

On Monday, the Sensex advanced 514.56 points to settle at 51,937.44. Nifty gained 147.15 points to settle at 15,582.80.

Indices ended almost flat after a volatile session on Tuesday the Sensex fell 2.56 points to settle at 51,934.88. Nifty lost 7.95 points to settle at 15,574.85.

On Wednesday, the Sensex declined 85.40 points to settle at 51,849.48. The Nifty gained 1.35 points to settle at 15,576.20.

On Thursday it was advanced 382.95 points to settle at 52,232.43. Nifty 50 index gained 114.15 points or 0.73% to 15,690.35. Both the indices attained record closing high levels.

The Nifty hit a record high of 15,705.10 in late trade on Thursday.

On Friday, the Sensex declined 132.38 points to settle at 52,100.05. Nifty too lost 20.10 points to settle at 15,670.25.
