To Bitcoin skeptic's tweet, Elon Musk responds with eggplant emoji

New York/IBNS: A day after Elon Musk lost the top position on the list of world’s richest apparently triggered by his opinion on prices of Bitcoin and its smaller rival Ether, he dismissed a critical tweet of a bitcoin skeptic with a single emoji sign sending out a clear message that he would continue to lend his support to cryptocurrency.

On Tuesday, Musk's networth declined by  $15.2 billion after his electric car company Tesla's share fell by 8.2%. On Feb 20, Musk had tweeted that the prices of Bitcoin and Ether "do seem high" two weeks after Tesla had announced $1.5 in Bitcoin to its balancesheet.

As Tesla's share prices fell, Euro Paxific Capital CEO Peter Schiff, a known bitcoin crictic, pointed out in a tweet that Tesla's shares had been falling since Musk spent $1.5 of shareholders' money in buying bitcoin.
Elon Musk's tweet was liked a whopping 1.4 lakh times on the microblogging site whereas Schiff's post gather over 24,000 'likes'.

According to media reports, many of Musk's followers interpretted the emoji that he was dismissive of Schiff's opinion as the eggplant emoji is considered rude for its phallic symbolism.

However, Schiff reponded to Musk's one-emoji reponse with another reproving tweet.

"For someone of your intellect I would have expected a more thoughtful reply, not something one would hear at a playground. Does this mean our clubhouse conversation is not happening?"
