Indian Market: Sensex zooms 1032.59 pts during week

Mumbai/UNI: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) zoomed by 1,032.59 points or 2.69 per cent to settle at 39,467.31 in a week under review as investors cheered optimism about a potential treatment for Coronavirus and pick up in business activity.

Upbeat global cues also boosted investors sentiments.

The Nifty gained 276 points or 2.42 pc to settle at 11,647.60.

BSE Mid-Cap index gained 284.19 or 1.90 pc to settle at 15,238.14 BSE Small-Cap advanced 365.36 points or 2.50 pc to settle at 14,990.55.

On Monday, the Sensex advanced by 364.36 points to settle at 38,799.08. Nifty too climbed 94.85 points to settle at 11,466.45.

On Tuesday the Sensex, rose by 44.80 points to settle at 38,843.88. Nifty added 5.80 points to settle at 11,472.25.

On Wednesday, the BSE Sensex surged by 230.04 points to settle at 39,073.92. Nifty added 77.35 points to settle at 11,549.60.

On Thursday the BSE Sensex, advanced 39.55 points to settle at 39,113.47. Nifty too gained 9.65 points to settle at 11,559.25.

On Friday, the Sensex rallied by 353.84 points to settle at 39,467.31.Nifty gained 88.35 points to settle at 11,647.60.
