Indian Market: Sensex nosedives 522.01 pts during week

Mumbai/UNI: Snapping six week's gaining streak, the BSE Sensex dropped 522.01 points or 1.37 per cent to settle at 37,606.89 in volatile week under review on profit booking even negative cues from Global peers spoiled investors sentiment.

The Nifty too declined 120.70 points or 1.08 per cent to settle at 11,073.45.

BSE Mid-Caprose 56.56 or 0.41 per cent to settle at 13,759.11. The BSE Small Cap gained 55.21 points or 0.43 per cent to settle at 13,021.76.

On Monday, amid mixed global cues the BSE Sensex dropped 194.17 points to settle at 37,934.73. Nifty fell 62.35 points to settle at 11,131.80.

On Tuesday the indices ended with robust gains amid broad-based buying support. Sensex rallied 558.22 points to settle at 38,492.95. Nifty added 168.75 points to settle at 11,300.55.

On Wednesday the Sensex dropped 421.82 points to settle at 38,071.13. Nifty lost 97.70 points to settle at 11,202.85.

Markets tumbled on Thursday, trading was volatile as the July 2020 F&O contracts expired.

Sensex dropped 335.06 points to settle at 37,736.07. Nifty lost 100.70 points to settle at 11,102.15.

On Friday the Sensex dropped 129.18 points to settle at 37,606.89. The Nifty fell 28.70 points to settle at 11,073.45.
