New Delhi/UNI: The annual rate of inflation based on monthly Wholesale Price Index stood at -1.81 per cent for June as compared -3.21 per cent in May, according to data released by the government on Tuesday.
The annual rate of inflation based on WPI Food Index increased to 3.05 per cent in June from 2.31 per cent in May.
The annual rate of inflation based on monthly WPI stood at 2.02 per cent in June last year.
Annual Rate of Inflation of Primary articles for the month stood at -1.21 per cent, Fuel & Power at -13.60 per cent and Manufactured Products at 0.08 per cent.
The index for Primary Articles group increased by 2.28 per cent in June, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said.
Prices of Crude Petroleum & Natural Gas increased by 16.30 per cent, Food Articles by 1.97 per cent and Non Food Articles by 1.71 per cent as compared to May 2020.
Prices of Minerals declined by 1.72 per cent in June as compared to last month.
Prices of Mineral oils group increased 12.54 per cent in June compared to May whereas prices of Coal and Electricity remain unchanged.
The index for Manufactured Products group increased by 0.42 per cent while the Manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products remained unchanged in June compared to May 2020.
The figures of WPI for June, 2020 have been compiled at a response rate of around 70 per cent, the release said.
The Food Index consisting of ‘Food Articles’ from Primary Articles group and ‘Food Products’ from Manufactured Products group have provisionally increased from 146.1 in May 2020 to 148.6 in June 2020.
For April 2020, the final Wholesale Price Index and inflation rate for 'All Commodities' stood at 119.2 and WPI based rate of inflation stood at -1.57 per cent.
