Indian Rupee falls 6 paise against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Wednesday slipped by six paise to end negative at 71.33 on rising demand for US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at Forex Market said.

Gaining by 13 paise in last couple of sessions, the local unit moved up by seven paise to 71.21 in opening trade. Later, it fell and ended at 71.33, easing by six paise as compared to last close.

The domestic unit registered day high and low at 71.35 and 71.19 respectively.

The Indian currency was seen weak owing to strong dollar against other world currencies however, rebounding equity market capped from further losses, the dealers added.
