Kolkata / Bengaluru, July 28 (IBNS): In order to give a touch and feel experience to customers in an ever growing online furniture market, Flipkart, India's leading e-commerce marketplace, has introduced its first Furniture Experience Center in Bangalore.

This is a step towards helping customers understand the vast selection of furniture offered by Flipkart and increase awareness around the seamless buying and installation experience it offers.

It is also working with Google to enhance customers’ overall viewing experience at these FurniSure Experience Centres through integration with Google Lens. Visitors at the experience centre can use their smartphone to scan the Flipkart Furniture icon at the experience centres, which will then route them to the platform’s furniture page, allowing them to explore the product catalogue along with their various features.

The first experience centre, spread across nearly 1,800 square feet, has been introduced at Mantri Lithos at Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru. It showcases home furniture from nine brands such as Hometown, Evok by Hindware, The Jaipur Living, Perfect Homes, At Home by Nilkamal, Woodness, Recron by RIL, Wakefit and Springtek.

Furniture today is one of the fastest growing online categories, witnessing an upsurge in customer demand from across metros as well as tier 2, 3 towns. This is majorly driven by the digitisation wave, growing income in the hands of millennials and improving real estate scenario, thereby expanding the market size for online furniture in India to $17 billion in 2018.

As customers look for a touch and feel aspect before buying furniture online, the experience centre aims to bridge this gap by showcasing its certified products at strategic locations across the cities. As part of the first phase of expansion, Flipkart Furniture will introduce 2 more experience centres in Bengaluru and will also look at expanding the experience centres into other metros in the subsequent phases.

"The furniture category has traditionally had a strong presence offline, because customers like to see and touch the products they are buying. As a customer focused organisation, we understand the requirements of customers and hence ‘FurniSure’. The idea behind the FurniSure Experience Zone is to allow customers to explore Flipkart Furniture’s offerings in a new and innovative fashion. We aim at reducing customer pain-points at all stages of purchase while bringing quality assurance and standardisation in the market. With our wide selection and excellent after-sales installation services, we are confident that customers will have a seamless purchase experience," said Adarsh Menon, Vice-President, Furniture, Electronics and Private Label at Flipkart.

Flipkart Furniture is one of the fastest growing furniture marketplaces in the country today, boasting of over 80,000 products across various categories and provides delivery and selective installation across 11,500 pincodes. It’s ‘FurniSure’ certified products offer customers the surety of buying a quality product which will last long.
