US Gun control: Oklahoma senate passes bill which allows residents to carry firearms without licence

Oklahoma City, May 5 (IBNS): In a move that could potentially jeopardize gun control measures in the United States of America, the state of Oklahoma has passed a bill which allows a resident to carry firearms without any license, reports said.

According to reports published by the CNN, Senate Bill 1212 has already been approved by the state house.

The bill now rests with Governor Mary Fallin, who is yet to take the final call.

The new rule, if it does come into force, will not be a novelty in the US, as 12 other states:  Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming, have similar rules.

The gun control debate, which is running for long in the US, gathered momentum after at least 17 children lost their lives in a shooting incident in Florida earlier this year.
