Washington/Sputnik/IBNS: President Joe Biden said on Friday that the COVID-19 induced economic crisis in the United States is deepening.

“We remain in a once-in-a-century public health crisis that has led to the most unequal job and economic crisis in modern history. And the crisis is only deepening,” Biden said in his remarks, shortly after a meeting with his economic advisors.

Joe Biden took oath as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday.

In his inaugural address to the nation, Biden had said: "We’ve learned again that democracy is precious. And at this hour, my friends, democracy has prevailed.”

Joe Biden had said the nation “must confront” white supremacy during his speech adding that “the dream of justice for all will be deferred no longer.”

Biden, 78, had took the oath of office from Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts at a solemn ceremony at the US Capitol.
