Two Canadians arrested in Cambodia for 'dancing pornographically'

Phnom Penh/Ottawa, Jan 29 (IBNS): Two Canadians have been arrested for allegedly dancing in pornographic style in Cambodia, media reports said.

Eden Kazoleas (20) and Jessica Drolet (25) are the two Canadians who have been detained.

In total, 10 foreigners have been arrested on Thursday after a party which was organised in a rented villa in the resort town of Siem Reap.

The police in a release told CTV News that several men and women were seen straddling one another on the floor.

The images of the party were shared on social media before the arrest.

Global Affairs Canada said consular services were delivered to both the detained Canadians.

Spokesperson Brendan Sutton told CTV News, "Consular officials are in contact with local authorities to gather additional information".

An anxious aunt of Eden, Donna Kazoleas told CTV News, "Eden is a very, very good kid. She is very outgoing. She doesn’t smoke. She doesn’t drink,” the 20-year-old’s aunt. This is really, really concerning".

Apart from the two Canadians, there were five British, one New Zealander, one Norwegian and one from Netherlands among the detained people.

The incident has even struck a massive political and social repercussion in the southeast Asian country, report said.
