Unknown gunmen recently shot dead Balochi language singer Hanif Chamrok  in Pakistan's Turbat city.

Police told Dawn News on Thursday that Chamrok was taking a music class along with some youngsters outside his home in Singani village on the outskirts of Turbat when unidentified men opened fire on him.

Police said the attackers arrived at the spot by riding a motorbike.

They used automatic weapons to attack the singer.

Police said the singer died on the spot.

Human Rights Council of Balochistan condemned the incident and tweeted: "We strongly condemn assassination of Haneef Chamrok, father of our ex-Chairperson Tayyaba Baloch. We call upon the government to form an impartial committee to investigate this tragic incident. Perpetrators must be held accountable for this heinous crime. @ShireenMazari1."
