Pakistan: FIA arrests man over child pornography charge

Islamabad, Feb 2 (IBNS):  The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested a suspected person   of being involved in child pornography in Batkhela area in Pakistan, media reports said on Friday.

A senior official of the Malakand district administration told Dawn that a five-member FIA team visited the District Headquarters Hospital, Batkhela, as part of investigation into a child pornography and blackmail complaint.

A Malakand Levies official was quoted as saying to Dawn News that the suspects had made social media accounts impersonating women before tricking schoolchildren to offer their nude pictures and using them for blackmail. 

He also informed that investigation was launched into the matter after a   Peshawar-based doctor reported the issue.

He said eighth, ninth and 10th graders were targeted.

An official of the FIA Cybercrime Wing told Dawn News: " The suspect, Ilyas, a resident of Batkhela, has formally been charged with child pornography in the FIR and will be produced in the court of law on Friday."

Meanwhile, two men were arrested by police on charges of  stripping and filming a girl.
