Hokkaido, Jun 3 (IBNS) The seven-year-old Japanese boy, who was left in forests by his parents for being too naughty, was found to be alive on Friday, according to reports.

Dehydrated and hungry, Yamato Tanooka was found by SDF forces, who were looking for him, Kyodo reported.

A massive manhunt had started after the boy's parents registered a missing case against him.

Later the parents admitted that they had knowingly left him there, to teach him a lesson after he pelted stones at some residents.

The boy's father, Takayuki Tanooka  said that he regretted his decision. he also apologised to his son for his conduct.

Kyodo quoted the boy's father as saying, "I feel very sorry for the boy as I came down on him hard."

The boy is presently admitted in a hospital, where he is recuperating from dehydration.
